Bianca Cabán

Bianca Cabán is an entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist. She is currently an MBA Candidate at Columbia Business School of Columbia University in New York. As Managing Partner of Taino Capital, she runs the day to day operations of the company and its underlying businesses. She is also a Founding Board Member of a financial accelerator for Latina-owned businesses called AccessLatina 501(c)3, which invests in companies in STEAM, social innovation, and agribusiness/agtech, and seeks to harness and accelerate the Latina entrepreneurship impact in the U.S. to date by bringing access to capital to the global Latina community. 

Prior to these initiatives, as a member of the Founding Team of Atlas Merchant Capital (“Atlas”) and Chief of Staff to the Founder and CEO, Bianca assisted in the creation of the firm, which employed a merchant banking approach to global financial services investing, as well as in the launch of its first investment vehicle, pan-African bank Atlas Mara. As Chief of Staff, she executed the full range of the CEO’s organizational and business endeavors, traveling with him to the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2014 Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, WEF 2014 Africa Regional Conference in Abuja, Nigeria, the Milken Global Conference in LA, and on investor roadshows and business meetings globally, including in Europe and the Middle East. Before assisting to launch Atlas and Atlas Mara, Bianca was a Business Management & Analytics Associate at BlackRock, and she started her career as an Equity Research Analyst at Credit Suisse.

Bianca is a member of the Admissions Committee of the Harvard Club of New York, The Chapin School Alumnae Board, Milken Institute Young Leaders Circle and New York Chapter Steering Committee, WEF Global Shapers, New America Alliance American Latina Leadership Caucus and Young Leaders, and NationSwell Council. Also, she serves as a High School Interviewer for the Harvard Admissions Office, an Mentor for the Stanford Latino Entrepreneur Leaders Program, an Advisor and Selection Committee Member for the Sonia & Celina Sotomayor Judicial Internship Program, an inaugural Latina Advisory Board Member of Emily's List with Dolores Huerta and Maria Teresa Kumar, a civic organization that supports Democratic pro-choice women to run for office, and an Ambassador for civic organizations Run for America and Puerto Rico Global, an initiative of ConPRmetidos.

Bianca was recognized for her leadership and business acumen as a recipient of the “Rising Star Award” at the 2014 National Puerto Rican Day Parade Gala in New York. She has been featured in Breakout, a national network of millennial rising leaders and tech entrepreneurs; Upworthy.com, millennial news outlet, for her work in bringing global investors to Puerto Rico; Cosmopolitan for Latinas September 2015 edition where she was named the Reader Winner of the “Fun Fearless Latina” Awards for her social innovation and investment in women-led businesses; and on ABC-7’s local TV news program “Tiempo” with anchor Joe Torres.

Bianca earned a B.A. from Harvard College in 2009, where she founded the Latina Empowerment and Development Conference. She was born and raised in the Bronx, is of Puerto Rican descent, has traveled and studied throughout Latin America, and has conducted business in Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.
