Cultivating Global Business & Investment Opportunities
Taino Capital LLC ("Taino") is a consultancy and global investment holdings founded by entrepreneur and investor, Bianca Cabán. Taino originates, structures, and cultivates businesses and investments with a focus on real estate development, regulated cannabis investments, entrepreneurship and technology, through a dependable network of private sector and government relationships to support economic development and foreign direct investment in the United States, the Caribbean, Latin America, and Africa.
We have identified one of the more compelling investment opportunities at this time to be the economic revitalization of Puerto Rico. While the island is currently undergoing a fiscal and economic crisis, based on its rich history of industrial innovation and as a high income economy, we envision Puerto Rico to be the next possible hub for startup innovation, knowledge services, higher education, and social enterprise. Similar to the economic evolution of Singapore and Macau, Puerto Rico is a bilingual island that has the potential to thrive in business, academia, and tourism.
With its location as a gateway to the United States and Latin America, parallel to Africa, and with strategic access to the Panama Canal, Puerto Rico is situated to be a premier transhipment hub where international trade and new technologies are nurtured and transported globally. At Taino, we believe the key to further economic development in Puerto Rico is a shift toward an incentive-based model that promotes entrepreneurship and market growth buttressed by progressive and supportive government economic policy.
In 2012, the Puerto Rico government reinstated an aggressive economic and tax incentives program in an effort to bolster a diversified economy and attract global businesses to establish tax-efficient entities and operations on the island, thereby increasing their global profits. So far, there have been 360 tax decrees approved by the Puerto Rico government and 2,351 more expected between 2015 and 2024.
Taino navigates this opportunity for financial firms and global entities through assisting them to establish and maintain business operations in Puerto Rico by leveraging Cabán's proprietary, public and private sector networks on and off the island.
Taino was licensed as the first Qualified Promoter of the Puerto Rico government in March 2016.
